Scout (aka Young Cutie!)

Scout, a beautiful Appaloosa colt, was discarded at auction, skin and bones thin, and pleading with his eyes for someone to care for him. We could not look away and now he is forever safe and loved. We had the vet out immediately and we agreed to do a slow re-feed start up as he was a body score of 2. His hooves have likely never been trimmed at his age of under one year. Since then, he has been in “starvation mode” - only caring for the food in front of him - but is slowly letting volunteers touch him and care for him. We can’t wait to see how he flourishes and grows strong! But right now, getting his healthy steady and his hooves in shape is our primary goal. Scout will be a resident here until he is 4-5 and fully trained under saddle.
